the home side opened the scoring and were 0-05 to 0-02 ahead after 20min with points from gordon kirwan,fergal mcguigan,liam shevlin,peter kirwan and pat lynch ,after a free from plunkets dreadnots who were in control were awarded a 24th minute penalty but pepe smith saw his spot kick come back off the upright and plunkets cleared,liam shevlin then pointed and on the stroke of half time the county man sent an unstoppable shot the roof of the net to leave it 1-07 to 0-03 at half time
the first 15min of the 2nd half saw plunkets score 4 unanswered points to reduce the deficet to 3pt but the seasiders showed good resolve and scored 6 unanswered points of their own pepe smith 2 ciaran cunningham 2f chris mulroy and gordon kirwan all on the mark and that was enough to see the dreadnots secure victory on a 1-13 to 0-07 scoreline
