| O'Connells in good form in encounter with Plunketts |

The O’Connell’s collected two more points in division 1 at the grove with a nine point victory over the Plunketts. The Drogheda side got off to a great start with a goal from John Moroney and a point from Luke Haggins after ten minutes. Colm Kearney got the home side’s first point and then Salem Rifaie was taken down in the box and Mark Stanfield made no mistake from the penalty spot. Stanfield hit the net again for the home side in between two points from Paul McKeever to leave the O’Connell’s five points up after 20 minutes. McKeever, Haggins and Frank Taaffe all got points to leave the half time score O’Connell’s 2-4, Plunketts 1-3. In the second half the home side got two quick points from Stanfield and Jonathon Conlon but plunketts replied with the next three, two more from Haggins one a free and the other Taaffe. The sides swapped the next two scores, and then the Bellingham side pulled away with the next six points three from the boot of Stuart Reynolds all frees two from Robert Quigley and another for Conlon. Haggins and Rifaie got the last two points for their sides but it is another victory for the home team who now taken seven points from their last four games.
