In a very scrappy first half both teams struggled with the weather conditions. The Nicks struck early through Derek Kierans with 1-1 but then the Nicks defence gifted the home side a goal midway through the half. A well worked goal from Philip Smith put the visitors in front but it was Rovers who finished the stronger with another goal and two well taken points. The rain stopped for the second half which let the Nicks enjoy the aid of the wind. Straight from the throw in the nicks dominated. Eddie Carr in midfield won the majority of possession, letting his team-mates keep the scoreboard ticking over. Hunterstown could'nt get to grips with the conditions and the Nicks defence kept them scoreless for the second half. The pick of the Nicks scores for the second half were points from all three half backs and a solo goal from Kierans near the end.
