This was very much a game of two halves, with the Joes being all out with the washing in the first, Glyde were full value for their 0-10 to 0-1 lead with 26 minutes played in the game. However, over the next 30 minutes of play the Joes would pull back this deficit to level the game with an Alan Mc Kenna goal, before pushing on to win the game by two points.

It took Glyde two minutes to open up the scoring in the game with a Clint Sweeney point from play. The home team leveled this up when Gary Kinahan set up Conal O Hanlon a few minutes later. However for the next twenty minutes the visitors would be completely dominant, scoring nine points without reply! Centre Half forward Gerard Sheridan scoring five of these, three from play and two from frees. The other scores all came from play, two from John Moyles and one each from Mark O Brien and Shane Barry. When Alan Quigley was fouled close in it gave Conal O Hanlon the chance to pop over an easy free and arrest the free fall. Good work from Sean Mc Quillan and Gary Kinahan lead to a final point before the break, scored by Alan Mc Kenna.
Half Time Score: St Josephs 0-3, Glyde Rangers 0-10

Despite pulling back a couple of points at the end of the first half the Joes had a big hill to climb if they were to improve their performance and get anything out of the game in the second half, but this they did! Within a minute of the restart a quick O Hanlon free set up Gary Kinahan for a point, this was followed by a fine Alan Mc Kenna point. Before the kickout was sent straight to Alan Lynch who worked the ball forward for another Mc Kenna point. Lynch also set up the next point, this one scored by Peter Mulligan. However in the 11th minute Gerard Sheridan would extend the Tallanstown lead back to five with two pointed frees. The Joes were back on the scoreboard with a very good Sean Mc Quillan point from the right corner, before the recently introduced Mickey Mc Ardle pointed a free. This was followed by a good individual score from Alan Quigley, before Glyde substitute Trevor O Brien pushed their lead back out to three points in the 25th minute. A minute later, a pinpoint pass from Mc Ardle would find Alan Lynch, who in turn found Alan Mc Kenna, who goaled despite the close attention of a number of Glyde backs. The Joes fully seized the momentum from here to the finish. Conall Smyths first touch saw him involved in the build up for another Mc Ardle point. Conal O Hanlon won the resultant kickout, drove forward and scored the final point of a good win for the Cluskey Park side.
